Your wedding day is one of the most special moments in your life, and at Christ Church we would be delighted to be part of it.
We warmly invite couples to celebrate their marriage with us in a beautiful and meaningful church setting. A church wedding is more than just a ceremony – it is a sacred service where you make your vows before God, surrounded by family and friends, and begin your life together with His blessing.
At Christ Church, you don’t have to be a regular churchgoer to be welcomed. Whether you have a long-standing connection with the church or are simply drawn to the beauty and tradition of a church wedding, we are here to support you every step of the way.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere
A beautiful setting for your special day
Friendly guidance and support throughout your planning
The opportunity to personalise your service with hymns, readings, and music
If you are getting married in a Methodist church, banns are not usually read. Instead, there are different legal steps that must be completed before your wedding can take place.
In most cases, you will need to give formal notice of your intention to marry at your local Register Office. This must be done in person, and there is normally a waiting period before your marriage can go ahead.
For Methodist weddings, a registrar or authorised person will also be present at the ceremony to ensure the marriage is legally recognised.
We will guide you through each step, helping you understand what is needed and making sure everything is arranged in good time.
